WHAT IS MALA
Mala has been known since the 3rd century and is used both in Buddhism and Hinduism. Mala is used to count mantras, performed rituals and bows. Classic mala consists of 108 beads, which is the product of the canonical numbers of Buddhism: 6x3x2x3. There are also shorter brushes made of 99, 54, 36, 27, 18 grains. The number of beads always refers to certain provisions of the Teaching.
MATERIAL FOR BEADS AND THREAD

K mala should be treated with care. If the damaged beads on the brushes cannot be repaired, then the small ones are taken to the temple and left as an offering. Mala serves as an integral attribute of some deities, in particular, Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva of compassion. Often he is depicted with a lotus and brushes in his hand, which expresses his desire to help believers overcome 108 passions and achieve enlightenment.
