Madhuyashti is an effective Ayurvedic emollient, tonic, expectorant, decongestant, sedative, emetic, rejuvenating agent. A mild laxative, soothes and tones mucous membranes, reduces muscle spasms and inflammation.
The sweet that is part of Madhuyashta Churna has a sattvic nature that calms the mind. Licorice nourishes the brain, increases the amount of intracranial and cerebrospinal fluids.
Madhuyashti is particularly effective for coughs, sore throats, chronic constipation, weakness, colds, bronchitis, laryngitis, ulcers, increased acidity, painful urination, abdominal pain.
Effects:
Licorice is an effective expectorant, promotes removal and liquefaction of mucus. In large doses, it is a good emetic agent that cleanses the lungs and stomach of KAPHA. The plant affects all organs and systems. It has an anti-ulcer effect, thanks to the carbenoxolone glycoside. It has a softening and expectorant effect, thanks to the high content of saponins. The presence of licorice glycoside causes a laxative, choleretic and antispasmodic effect. Beta-sitosterols prevent the development of adenomas of the prostate gland and increase urination. The high content of glycyram causes an immunomodulating and anti-inflammatory effect. Ayurveda uses licorice root as a "key plant" in many phytorecipes.

For the treatment of colds and diseases of the respiratory system, Madhuyashti is well combined with Vasaka Ginger. Together with Ginger and Cardamom, Licorice is a tonic for the teeth, a restorative and rejuvenating agent. Indications: cough sore throat, chronic constipation, weakness, colds, bronchitis, laryngitis, ulcers, increased acidity, painful urination abdominal pain Application: 1-2 tab. 1-2 times a day, washed down with warm milk and, if necessary, mixed with honey, to achieve an expectorant or relaxing effect. The duration of the course is 3-6 weeks, better in winter.
