Medicinal Indian gooseberry: candied amla

Ingredients:Small pieces of Amla (Indian gooseberry) dried and sweetened with sugar and glucose.      Amla promotes digestion, and it is also a natural source of vitamin C, contains bioflavonoids and carotenoids, and has antioxidant properties. After a heavy meal, digestion improves.

One of the most amazing medicinal plants of the East is amla (Indian gooseberry). During November, this small tree with green-gray bark sheds its branches along with its leaves. Pale yellow juicy fruits of amla have the shape of a ball and ripen in the period from November to February.      At the same time, not only amla fruits, but also leaves, flowers and even seeds, bark and roots of this tree are widely used for medicinal purposes. Indian gooseberry fruits have a sour taste and their regular use improves digestion. By the way, amla is eaten round the clock, both fresh and dried. From berries softened with sugar, jam is prepared, which eliminates a number of diseases: palpitations, digestive problems, biliousness.      Gooseberry seeds are the main ingredient for the preparation of a healing tincture, which is an effective remedy for eye diseases.      Mashed fruits, in combination with honey and red sandalwood, are recommended by Indians for nausea and vomiting.      For indigestion and upset stomach, as well as ulcer diseases, in the East they use a simple recipe: they add crushed amla leaves to a fermented milk product like kefir. The juice of the bark is used in the treatment of infectious diseases to heal wounds and ulcers. Add amla to your daily diet and you will significantly improve your health.

It is not recommended to take on an empty stomach.
