Basma is crushed indigofera leaves with a greenish-gray color. Basma is a natural vegetable paint — an environmentally friendly product containing biologically active substances and vitamins. Basma is not used separately for hair coloring, otherwise a blue-green color can be obtained. It can be used only in combination with henna. Since basma contains indigo, if you add henna to it, which contains a red pigment, it will prevent the appearance of a green tint. In turn, the blue component of basma neutralizes the saturated red color of henna, making the result of dyeing more peaceful.
To dye hair in dark tones, mix henna with basma and pour water (not lower than 80°C), mix until the consistency of sour cream. Apply the slightly cooled mass to dry, clean hair and put on an insulating cap. Choose the ratio of henna and basma individually depending on the desired color. Coloring time from 30 min. until 2 p.m. After dyeing, wash your hair with water without shampoo. The final color appears after 24 hours. It is not recommended to dye blond hair without henna.
There are two methods of combining henna and basma - separate and simultaneous.
When separately dyeing, hair is first dyed with henna, as described above, and then with basma. Basma is prepared in the same way as henna, immediately before coloring, but the solution should be slightly thinner. After exposure, the hair is washed with warm water.
The exposure time depends on the desired shade, on average:
- 15-20 minutes (blond shade),
- 1-1.5 hours (chestnut shade),
- 2-3 hours (intense black color). g in total, depending on the length of the hair), pour boiling water and stir until a homogeneous slurry is formed, to the consistency of thick sour cream. To obtain the desired shade of hair, a certain ratio of henna and basma is taken.
To obtain:
- brown tone of hair, 1 part of basma is taken for 1 part of henna, exposure time is 30 minutes,
- light brown tone: for 1 part of henna, 1 part of basma is taken, exposure time is 1 hour,
- chestnut tone: for 1 part of henna, 2 parts of basma are taken, time exposure time – 1.5 hours,
- bronze tone: 1 part of basma is taken for 2 parts of henna, exposure time – 1.5 hours,
- black color: 3 parts of basma are taken for 1 part of henna, exposure time – 4 hours.
When dyeing hair with basma, it is undesirable to wash hair with shampoo or another alkaline product for at least three days after coloring.
If the hair is Basma colors turned out to be darker than desired, you can wash them with water acidified with vinegar or lemon juice.
If the color of the hair turned out to be not dark enough when dyeing with henna and basma together, you can dye them with basma again.
Attention: if after a long time of using henna and basma, you suddenly decide to change "radically" - become a blonde - hair color after dyeing can become completely unexpected! Do not dye your hair at home. Consult with specialists in the salon. Most likely, it will be necessary to wait some time until the natural dye is washed off the hair.
