Serpina Himalaya is the first drug of the Himalaya company, which was put into serial production back in 1970. The composition of the drug contains Rauwolfia plant - a powerful antihypertensive agent. Rauwolfia snake is a herb with a strong smell, its name in Sanskrit Sarpagandha literally translates to smell like a snake. Reserpine, the active compound contained in it, gives Rauwolfia snake its antihypertensive properties. The hypotensive activity of reserpine is associated with a decrease in peripheral resistance, and as a result, it has a sedative effect and reduces the heart rate.
Indications: Moderate hypertension, insomnia and restlessness, neurasthenia, bites of poisonous animals and reptiles, sexual hyperexcitability and excessive sexual desire.

Action
Serpina reduces peripheral stores of catelamine (norepinephrine), which contributes to lowering arterial
pressure. Serpina reduces the adrenergic tone of the heart and helps control anxiety. Thus, the remedy has a beneficial effect in the treatment of disorders associated with nervous tension, anxiety and high blood pressure. Stimulates breathing, relaxes smooth muscles and removes excessive tension of the heart muscle.
