Throughout the centuries-old history of its existence, mustard is a famous spice in many countries not only because of its excellent taste, but also because of its amazing medicinal properties. Bearing the name "leprosy-killing", "warming" in the ancient Indian language, mustard was already widely used in the folk medicine of Ancient Greece and Rome in the first millennia of our era (the first mentions of the miraculous properties of wild-growing mustard date back to the 1st century BC)

The family of gray (Sareptian) mustard is considered to be Eastern China, from which this spice first got to India, and then "migrated" from there to other countries in Asia and southern Europe. In Ukraine, gray mustard appeared for the first time as a weed plant accidentally imported from Asian countries together with imported millet and flax. This product of mustard seed processing is also widely used in the canning industry, bakery and confectionery industry, in the industrial production of solid edible fats, lubricating and cooling liquids, glycerin, fatty acids, and cosmetic creams. Mustard oil is also included in the composition of various medicinal preparations (the cake that remains as a result of the production of mustard oil is used to make mustard powder used in the production of mustard). And in addition, mustard oil is a very popular tool in a number of countries for a relaxing massage, which is necessary for athletes after intensive training.

It is worth noting that obtained by the method of cold pressing (at 40-50 degrees), mustard oil not only fully preserves in its composition the entire set of the most useful substances for the human body, but also has, unlike other vegetable oils, significant resistance to oxidation, which causes a long shelf life of this plant product. Due to the slow oxidation of mustard oil, it is often added to other vegetable oils to increase their shelf life.

Mustard oil, which belongs to valuable vegetable oils, is characterized by a high content of biologically active substances needed by the human body daily (vitamins (E, A, D, B3, B6, B4, K, P), polyunsaturated fatty acids (vitamin F), phytosterols, chlorophyll, phytoncides, glycosides, essential mustard oil, etc.)

Mustard oil is an effective remedy for the treatment of the consequences of injuries, diseases of muscles and joints. Due to the synegrin glycoside included in the composition, mustard oil when used externally has an irritating, warming effect on the skin, contributing to the improvement of local blood circulation at the site of localization of the inflammatory process. In addition, this vegetable oil has analgesic, bactericidal, anti-edematous and anti-tumor properties. And that is why mustard oil has long been a traditional component of most medicinal ointments and creams intended for the treatment of gout, arthritis, polyarthritis, lumbago, myositis, rheumatism, sciatica. When rubbed into the skin, mustard oil also helps relieve tension in muscles and ligaments (thanks to this property, this oil is often used by athletes after intense physical exertion). Well, in addition, thanks to its disinfectant and antiseptic action, mustard oil is a famous remedy in folk medicine for the treatment of cuts and other traumatic skin lesions. natural immunomodulators and antioxidants, it is also very useful for strengthening immunity and prevention of oncological diseases.
