Emblica (lat. Emblica officinalis, syn. Phyllanthus emblica) is a fruit tree belonging to the genus Phyllanthus. The plant has many other names, such as Amla, Amalaki, Myrobalan gray, Indian gooseberry, Phyllanthus emblica.

The fruits have a diuretic (diuretic) effect and are a mild laxative. To enhance the diuretic effect of phyllanthus emblica, its juice should be mixed with raisins and honey. They have a beneficial effect on all organs of the gastrointestinal tract. Fruit juice is an excellent tonic. Recent chemical studies have shown the presence of large amounts of vitamin C in amla. This vitamin is the main antioxidant in our body, as it ensures redox balance in internal environments at the cellular level. In addition, ascorbic acid promotes the production of antibodies, assimilation of iron, treatment of scurvy.

There is also a lot of iron in fruits. This mineral element is the most important component of hemoglobin - a protein that carries oxygen in the body.

The main useful properties of emblik are as follows:

stimulation of hematopoiesis (synthesis of erythropoietin and hemoglobin). Therefore, fruits are very useful for anemia,
strengthening of bones, teeth,
improvement of skin, hair and nails,
stimulation of insulin production and normalization of blood sugar level. Emblica is useful for diabetes type II (insulin-dependent),
lowering blood pressure (the components of the fruit have a hypotensive effect),
Emblica contains a lot of antioxidants that bind free radicals and thereby prevent the body from aging,
strengthening vision, prevention of cataracts (again, due to the high concentration of antioxidants),
lacprophylaxis and treatment of atherosclerosis,
strengthening immunity,
improving blood composition,
treatment of diseases of the liver, spleen, heart, lungs,
Emblica has antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal properties,
components of the fruits have an anti-inflammatory effect.
Fruits can be consumed both fresh and added to various dessert dishes and made into jam. The caloric content of the fruits is so low that they will not put extra kilograms on a person's waist.

Emblica is sometimes mentioned in Ayurvedic medical literature, in particular in the description of the Ayurvedic drug "chavanprash" and some other drugs used to strengthen and clean hair and treat functional vision disorders.

The bark also has medicinal properties. (astringent) and flowers (laxative) of the plant.

The seeds make a tincture that is used in the treatment of infectious eye diseases, for example, conjunctivitis. They are also pounded into powder, the resulting mass is mixed with red sandalwood, and used as an antiemetic, as well as for seasickness. Crushed seeds are also mixed with vegetable or butter oil, and the resulting mass is used to treat scabies by applying it all over the body.

In recent years, Emblica has become increasingly popular in the world market. Some large companies create large plantations of this plant, expecting to make huge profits. Their expectations may come true, as the latest clinical trials show great prospects for the commercial cultivation of this unusual plant.

Strengthens Ojas (vital energy), calms Vata and Pitta.

Amlak is one of the most powerful rejuvenating plants in Ayurvedic medicine. It is especially effective as a rasayana for Pitta, as well as for the blood, bones, liver, and heart. Amalaki restores and supports new tissues, increases the amount of red blood cells. It cleans the oral cavity, strengthens the teeth, strengthens the bones, stops bleeding from the gums, relieves inflammation in the stomach and large intestine. This is the richest natural source of vitamin C (up to 3000 mg in one fruit). Amlak improves appetite, cleanses the intestines and regulates blood sugar. Amla contains various forms of ascorbic acid combined with tannin complex and gallic acid. This increases the stability of vitamin C, which lasts up to 2 years. Thanks to ascorbinates, carotenoids and bioflavonoids, amla has antioxidant properties, i.e. there are. neutralizes the aggressive action of free radicals formed as a result of oxidative processes. Three types of radicals are known: superoxide radical, hydrogen peroxide and hydroxyl radical. If the first two are neutralized by the enzymes superoxide dismutase, catalase, and peroxidase, then the organism has not developed a specific defense against the hydroxyl radical, since its appearance is associated with high-frequency radiation from televisions, computers, radiotelephones, and other household appliances and electronics that appeared relatively recently. Free radicals can damage the endothelium of arteries, accelerate the aging of articular cartilage and intervertebral discs, disrupt the colloid balance of bile and weaken the immune system. Therefore, regular intake of antioxidants is very relevant these days. In addition, amalaka has an immunomodulating effect. Normal activation of the immune system is not always favorable, as there is a group of diseases associated with autoimmune aggression: bronchial asthma, insulin-dependent diabetes, glomerulonephritis, psoriasis and others. Amla brings the immune system into balance. Finally, this plant stimulates the synthesis of hemoglobin. As a general tonic, take 5g of powder in a cup of warm water twice a day. Amlaki contains tannins that retain vitamin C due to their astringent properties. The fruit of Amlaka is a very strong tonic, it promotes hematopoiesis and the formation of reproductive fluids, it soothes the heart, lungs and kidneys. Amlaks are used for hemorrhoids accompanied by loss of appetite and pain not only in the pelvis, back, lower abdomen and bladder, hemorrhoidal nodes feel dry, hard, uneven, rarely bleed or swell, there is no appetite. Amlaks are used for increased acidity, because it has emollient properties, as well as for chronic hepatitis and anemia. For chronic fevers without high temperature, it is recommended to use amalaka together with shatavar and aloe juice. In small doses (0.5-1 g twice a day), amlaki is a good strengthening and tonic agent for children from one year of age. In these cases, it is consumed with milk or tea. Amlaki is a highly effective means for improving hair growth and quality, as well as for getting rid of early gray hair. At the same time, amalaki is used both inside and in the composition of medicinal oils based on sesame or coconut oil.
